1 Litre of Tears

I love this story so much. I’ve cried three litres of tears while watching this movie. So sad, damn touching! She is not a special girl, just chosen by a special disease.

Poem About Girl

I am

I am the girl who u call when everything goes wrong

I am the girl who u comes to for advice

I am the girl who u tell everything to

I am the girl whose heart is breaking

I am the girl who wanted you

I am the girl who needed you

I am the girl who had all that I wanted at one time

I am the girl who let u go

I am the girl who let u go again

I am the girl who your parents love

I am the girl who has dreams that seem impossible

I am the girl who will seek my dreams

I am the girl who cheers for the losers

I am the girl who believes anything is possible

I am the girl who has confidence in your decisions

I am the girl who will be saying go for it

I am the girl who wants to give up but wont

I am the girl who has answers for everything

I am the girl who is your best friend

I am the girl who will leave someday

I am the girl who will say goodbye with tears in my eyes

I am the girl who u will call when everything has went wrong

My Personal View On Blogging

  • Do you think that blogging activity improves your writing skills?

  • Do you think that blog is a useful learning experience for you?
  • What do you think that you need to know before you can complete the blogging activity successfully?
  • What are your problems that you face using blog?
  • Will you tell your friends, recommend to others about blogging?
  • Now that you are able to blog online will you continue using it even after the SKBP is over?

As I started blogging at the beginning of this semester for SKBP1023 ICT, and Language, I feel pretty excited as I can write anything that will appears in my mind. But, when I have to post 1 new posting every week, I started to dislike these blogging things. I begin to think that these blogging things had taken over my life. I slept with this blog and eat with this blog. However, I have to admit that blogging had progress my writing skills. Every time I need to post new posting at my blog, I have to read a lot about the topic given, choose the suitable gist, and re-write the information that I can put into my blog. In order to stratify my dear lecturer, I check for word spelling, grammatical errors and so on. When I keep doing this, my writing skills becomes better and better.

Blogging is a useful learning experience for me. I learn many things in here. Like Datin said before, blog allows us to become more outspoken in voicing our thought. It is like our dairy, online dairy, where we can publish our opinion to the whole world. It’s somewhat enjoyable and fun to me. I am a person who loves IT so much. I like to learn new things about IT. Blog have introduced me to some new things about IT.

In order to complete the blogging activities successfully, I have follow some steps that will help me. First of all, I tried to understand to the instructions given by Datin and read them carefully as it is written in the UKM Portal. Then I have to find the information to complete the task.

I do face some problems in blogging. At the beginning, I don’t really know how to use this blog. But when I discover the blog, I begin to understand how to use it. Thanks to all my friends that have been so kind to inform me a lot about this blog, on how to used it, how to decorate it and how to make my blog looks kind a ‘kawai’ (cute). Also, there are some times when I fail to connect to the internet and delay me from posting my work. It’s a bit anxiety to me because I have to post it on time. However, I manage to figure it.

Recommend blog to friends? Definitely! It’s fun. In fact, one of my best friends has started using Blogger.com last month. I’m sure some of my friends got many idea or opinion to share. It’s just a waste if their talent in writing or their benefit thought cannot be show to others.

I’ll try my best to keep using this blog. Although I know the next semester will be tough for me, I’ll try to spend my time to blogging. I’m looking forward to share my view with my friend not only about studious stuff but also personal matters.

Online testing

Online Quiz Results :: Kemahiran Asas ICT
Your Score : 24/30

This is my result for UJI ICT online test. I think I can get better than this. The questions were in bahasa and I found it’s quite hard to understand Technological and computer terms in bahasa. But taking this test was quite fun to me as I can know the result immediately by the end of the test, after I submit the answers.

Beyond Concordance Lines: Using Concordances to Investigate Language Development

Hello lovely people!

In this posting, which is my forth posting, I have to work together with my partner, Puteri to understand and summarized the article “Beyond Concordance Lines: Using Concordances to Investigate Language Development” by Arshad Abd Samad in Online Teaching and Learning in ELT book.

In 2002, a study was conducted using the EMAS (English of Malaysian School Students) corpus which consist of students from year 5 of primary school, form 1 and form 4 of secondary school where they were ask to produce essays from three different given topics. Their language productivity and vocabulary used was studied to examine their developmental patterns. It was found that the numbers of sentences, sentences per essay, words, and words per sentences from the three different level essays shows an increase due to the maturity of the students.

Teachers, researchers and language learners typically observe concordance lines to determine how words and grammatical constructions are used. Schmitt (2002: 34) argues that the benefit is that it may help students to look at the systematic of language as an interesting linguistics puzzle.

Use In Linguistics

Concordances are frequently used as a tool in linguistics that can be used for the study of a text, such as:

Example:

Unfinished Thoughts on Light

Light

Light dances

Light flickers

Light sparks

Light marks you

Light can envelop you

Light you can envelop,

Must be a rare commodity…

Light can become you,

Light does a lot of things,

Sometimes you can feel

As light as light,

But it seems

Light,

As light as it seems

Has great weight…

-hey man,

Got a light?

Once,

I tried to light

My smoke on a light bulb,

Couldn’t find my light

Nowadays, we have to

Conserve electricity

So,

I guess you can’t light your smoke

On those light bulbs

I feel light, writing about light

It didn’t work

By the way,

Lighting my smoke on

A light bulb

I think,

I’ll have more thoughts

On light

Another day

The impact of using ICT/wireless technology in education

Hello everyone!

This task is quite challenging for me, that why I took more time to finish it. I took a lot of time searching for information through online database. As we all know, Technology has take place in many aspect and has been used in our daily life nowadays. Either in society, in business, health and in education technology has become part of them.

I have chosen the topic ‘The impact of using ICT/wireless technology in education’. Information and communication technology (ICT) and wireless technology can bring positive impact in education and can improved student’s learning. It’s not just only for student who already have got experience with computers and ICT, but also for student who are new with this modern technology.

Nowadays, students have enjoyed the flexibility and freedom accompanying the school's wireless laptop distribution program. The "universal access" provided by IBM and Cisco has allowed students and faculty to easily interact using IM tools and e-mail, fostering enhanced student-professor relationships. Peer relationships have also improved as students find themselves collaborating on assignments, sharing expertise and helping one another. Students also have the opportunity to incorporate wireless technology into their everyday lives. Connecting to wireless hotspots to check e-mail between classes, researching assigned topics during class, and getting a jump-start on homework during their commute borne, students are taking advantage of these new wireless tools(James Benson).

For some advantages, more school start to implementing this ICT/wireless technology. Some of the advantages that state in the online journals are:

1. Flexibility. Where teachers and students can roam freely about the building with a wireless device and connect up at any time.

2. Wireless allows teachers to set up wireless labs in classrooms, auditoriums, common areas and even outside of the building if there is a network drop near a window.

3. IP wireless telephones allow teachers and administrators to roam anywhere in the building as they make and receive phone calls.

4. During parent-teacher nights, teachers have access to online grade books and digital portfolios wherever they are set up.

5. Wireless PDAs are used by teachers to submit daily attendance into online student administration systems. They are also used by administrators and deans to access student information and for submitting discipline referral information while away from the office.

6. Time savings. Think about how much time is in a class period, and then consider the time lost by having students go to and from the library to find the information. You gain valuable learning time when the technology comes to the students.

Computer assisted writing

Dear viewers,

Today’s topic is Computer Assisted Writing. Years ago, before computer have created, students used type writer to do their writing. At that time, it is an easy way to do their work with type writer than to write on their own. But nowadays, there is one tool that can help them more than type writer do. It is computer.

Computer not only can help students to do the writing work faster but also helps to improve student's skills in writing and grammar. Work processor is one of the tools or program that we can found in a computer which can helps student to improve their writing skills. Most students can experience success in writing through the use of a word processor (Bright, 1990). Word processing allows rapid alteration and manipulation of the text, helping writers sustain the mental images they are trying to capture while experimenting with language (Newman, 1984). According to Marjorie Simic, the word processor was designed for revising and manipulating language. For inexperienced writers (who tend to make corrections at the word level), proofreading is easier on the computer.

As for me, I found work processors are so benefiting because we can do anything with it such as free writing, brainstorming, and organizing. We can check our writing work for some errors in spelling and grammatical mistake, also can feel free to take risks in our writing because we know that we can edit it anytime.

You can visit this website to try some activities that related to this topic. www.manythings.org . This website provided some interesting and useful activities such as games, grammar quizzes, and puzzles that can helps to improve our English skills.
